If your school offers minors in Business good concentrations would be Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, or even Marketing. The skills obtained in the management fields will be highly applicable to your wanting to be an Art Director. It will teach you how to delegate responsibility, be accountable, organized and what to expect in a leadership role. I hope this helps and best of luck!

You should consider a minor in business management. In fact, I would recommend management as a minor to everyone regardless of their majors because it will help them later on in their careers, when they have to manage other people.
You should also consider participating in Operation Enterprise, which is sponsored by the American Management Association: http://www.amanet.org/oe/. I did it, and it certainly helped me.

You could take classes in any of the fields mentioned and learn some theoretical approaches to leadership and management and human behavior–but I think you can learn more of value from experience. Get involved on campus–in student clubs, publications, or a job like being an RA or a peer advisor. Try to get into some kind of leadership role–hold an office, or take charge of a project. I learned far more about managing and getting along with people from those things than I ever did in a classroom.
